I am a traveller at heart, a nomad that can live out of a suit case and just roam for months on end. But that unfortunately is not a reality for me. I have done a fair amount of travelling – and have been lucky to be able to do so. Blessed! It’s that time of the year again when foreign visitors will roam our shores, taking loads of photographs and live out of suitcases for a couple of weeks – true scrappers at heart! Basic Grey will be one of those roaming our shores and so we are lucky to introduce to you ahead of time the beautifully travel themed range called Carte Postale.

I am especially fond of the new BasicGrey range – it’s got that totally divine mix of vintage and funky mixed together with traditional – perfect for almost any travel themed layout or project. And it just so happened that I had a couple of my recent travel documents on my desk that I could incorporate into a little passport document for Allison Black. I love how everything just so seamlessly worked together without being overpowered. The designs, colours and patterns are just perfect for a fun project.

I wanted to make a mini-album – but without the fuss and loads of work and time that goes into a project like that – I just wanted to make something quick and easy – a memento that she can scribble ideas, place names and dates into without being bulky. So I used a couple of sheets of white cardstock and folded them to a small and manageable size. I then added some of the beautiful patterned papers, vintage stamps, brads and luggage tags cut from the paper. I used a set of passport themed stamps and Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink to stamp onto the pages. And that completed my little travel passport – perfect for quick notes, to staple tickets into and then add a couple of small index photographs.

The Carte Postale Range is so versatile, and I will definitely create a couple of layouts using some recent travel photos. What will you create with this stunning range of papers and embellishments?
