I am a dabbler…I dabble in all things paper. One week I may do conventional scrapbooking, the next perhaps a card or two, and then I may get the urge to do some Project Life style layouts or perhaps something off the page.

One craft I am still struggling to find my feet with is Mixed Media. I guess that could be because I didn’t pay enough attention in art class at school and didn’t get messy enough as a child. Recently I read that unless you keep trying you won’t ever get any better at things so I decided to jump in with this month’s Kaisercraft project.

Now, the Take Note collection has a distinct “Project 365” feel to it but I decided to go back to my childhood and make a paper doll mixed media canvas. I had a blast with gesso, spray mists, stencils and texture pastes. The project does not look exactly as I pictured it in my mind (which had a far more “Picasso” feel to it) but it will do for now. The 6.5” paper pads from Kaisercraft meant that I used just full 12” sheet of paper and all the hexagons were cut from the paper pad.
