This week I am featuring and focussing on my favourite products – Prima! I think most crafters have a love-hate relationship with Prima – the reason being that they have the most wonderful selection of flowers, papers and matching embellishments within each range. My love relationship with Prima is just that – I love their absolutely amazing range of flowers. I can sit and stare at a bowl of beautiful Prima flowers for hours and it just makes me happy – the softness and beauty can make anyone forget about the not so beautiful world out there. Prima flowers are therapeutic!

There I said it – something tangible and man-made is beautiful and they make me feel good even if I don’t use them that often. The other things I love about Prima are the amazing quality of papers and matching embellishments. They truly are market leaders when it comes to innovative and trendy new stuff to use in conjunction with their basic scrapping and crafting elements.

So this time around I wanted to stretch my Prima supplies as much as possible and at the same time stretch my crafting as well – make sense? Maybe it is the fact that I just love the stuff so much that I want it to last forever. I turned a recycled cooking box into a ‘grab and go’ note box complete with tags, small not cards and envelopes. This project is a special gift for a friend that is always in need of small note cards for friends and family.

Note Box How To

• Use a small biscuit or rusk box and remove all contents. Use a ruler and pencil to determine the height of your box measuring from the bottom upwards.
• Use a craft knife and cut through the box. Use your sanding block and sand the edges to smooth them out and neaten them off.
• Cut a strip of patterned paper the height of the box and adhere all around the edge using double sided tape.
• Cut a piece of cardboard the size of the base of your box to add strength and adhere it inside the box.

Inside the Box

I used the beautiful Rondelle collection to create quick and easy cards and tags. These can be used attached to small gifts as little thank you note. I love how I was able to stretch the beautiful Crystal Border and use it on most of my cards simply by cutting it up into smaller pieces.

Most of the patterned papers have elements that can be fuzzy cut and used on smaller cards as details. The flowers are cut and layered on top of each for dimension using pop dots. Have I mentioned how much I love pop dots – and that they cling for dear life which is a real bonus.

Stretching Your Supplies

I used a Crystal border and cut it into several pieces separating the clusters from the thin strands of pearls and diamante to form little accents that can be used on their own. Why don’t you try this next time when you need to stretch your supplies?
