Inspiration is everywhere and when it is handed to you on a platter then why not learn and grow from it. This is the case with the colours inspired and predicted by fashion this year.
I was inspired by the colours on this colour chart and selected my favourite ones to create a card. And of course a bit of gold bling just did the trick.
Tip
-
Step 1
Create a background using colours from the chart – I chose Island Paradise, Lapis Blue and Flame as my colours. TIP: now of course it doesn’t have to be those exact colours but something in the same hue will do the trick. I found my Memento ink pads to work perfectly, and remember they always work well together.
-
Step 2
Stamp your floral image on top of the background using the dark blue ink. Add ink to your stamp, lightly mist with water and then stamp onto your cardstock.
-
Step 3
Create focal point with a stamped circle adhered to one of the flowers. To add the gold bling, use a VersaMark Pen and draw around the circle freehand.
-
Step 4
Quickly cover the circle with gold embossing powder.
-
Step 5
Return the excess powder to the container and clean off any specs of embossing powder.
-
Step 6
Heat set the embossing powder until fully melted.
-
Step 7
Your VersaMark embossing ink pen is great for customising projects. You can write sentiments and emboss them but also create gold embossed borders, lines, stripes and so much more. It is a really versatile tool to have in your kit.
And that’s how I use my inspiration from trends, fashion and colour and translate them into my next crafting project. Quick and easy!
I hope you enjoyed the first in our Jowilna’s Advanced Class series! How will you be inspired by the colour trends this year and what combinations would you use from the colour chart?
