Planning a special celebration is a marvellous opportunity to get your creative juices flowing. Get your family and friends involved too! I must add that it does help to have a stash of cool tools, gadgets and supplies I have acquired over the last few years.

As part of a series inspiring you and all those brides to be out there, we are going to show you how to create some fun and simple stationery as well as décor items for your wedding.

Every bride needs helps with her big day and so I am starting off by asking a special friend to be a brides maid – that will be sure to spark a few creative ideas to build on.

I used my Silhouette to create fun little cards using this gorgeous range from Kaisercraft

• Step 1

  Design the gate fold card or use a pre-designed shape from the Silhouette store. Size the cards to the correct size.



• Step 2

  I selected to cut my paper on the ‘plain cardstock’ setting. Cut out only the outer folds of the cards on the patterned paper. Cut the inners out of smooth white cardstock.



• Step 3

  Make sure that the inner fits inside the folded card. I first cut a sample to make sure of my sizing.



• Step 4

  Design your printing and print it onto normal paper. Adhere the inner of the card to the test sample using a small piece of double sided tape.



• Step 5

  Send the same sheet through your printer again but now it will print onto the card inner, with the correct positioning.



• Step 6

  Design a logo image that can be used on all of the stationery. Print this onto patterned paper of your choice. Use a circle punch to punch out the element.



• Step 7

  Assemble the card with the inners, and then seal the outside with the punched logo element.

Add a diamanté as finishing touch and tie with a ribbon. Now you can build on the theme of your wedding stationery. And I love how easy it was to create something sweet and special using all my craft supplies.
