On your Christmas wish list should definitely be the Silhouette – any one of them or maybe all of them who knows? A must have for any crafter, whether you love crafting with paper or venturing into home décor and other crafts.
Since discovering the many possibilities of vinyl and how you can use it in crafting and everyday life, I find myself using my Silhouette more and more. It is just a must have simply because the possibilities are endless.
I bought these cute photo Christmas baubles from a bargain store. I will swop the images inside for some photos of the furry kids, but in the meantime I have started decorating the baubles using vinyl – you know just to add some personality.
Tip
-
Step 1
Make sure the baubles are dust free and clean. I wipe mine with a wet cloth using sugar soap.
-
Step 2
Design the image you want to use in the Silhouette software. Make sure to move the rollers and choose the ‘vinyl’ cut setting. Send the image to the Silhouette.
-
Step 3
Once done cutting, remove the image and weed around the image. Add some transfer tape to the front of the images and use a bone folder to burnish.
-
Step 4
Peel off the backing so that the vinyl alone sits on the transfer tape.
-
Step 5
Position the image or wording onto the bauble where you want it. Use your bone folder to burnish the wording, and then carefully peel off the transfer tape.
And there you have a beautifully decorated custom Christmas bauble.
And that is just one of the reasons why the Silhouette has to be on your Christmas wish list – the options are endless and it will open up a whole new world of possibilities in your craft room.
