Cricut Bookbag Recycled

There is such a sense of accomplishment when we can recycle something and make it functional again. A while ago I bought some new bedding and I loved that it came in a nice bag instead of that dreadful plastic that pollutes the earth. Of course, part of the reason I bought this was to get the bag – right?

How to:

So naturally, I was going to turn this bag into something awesome and with my Cricut Maker this project took only a few minutes. The longest of those few minutes was trying to find an iron that I could actually use! So, here’s how I decorated this bag and turned it into an awesome recycled art journal bookbag.

Step 1

I chose a simple leaf design and cut the image onto my heat transfer vinyl.

Step 2

Can you see those beautiful lines – so crisp and perfect?

Step 3

Using this magical tool, I weeded the excess vinyl around the image. I then positioned the image before ironing it onto the bag.

Step 4

TIP: I simply use my Teflon sheet on top of the vinyl design and then iron. Apply some pressure on one spot and then move onto the next spot, still applying pressure.

And that’s how easy it is to recycle something and turn it into something truly gorgeous.

Use what you have, alongside your amazing Cricut Machine and turn everyday items into gorgeously functional items – saving the planet one project at a time.
