When I invest in a product I not only want to buy all of the colours available, but I want to invest in the knowledge that I can use the product for a variety of things – it has to be versatile and functional. With my (API’s) All-Purpose Inks I have no issues at all.
Today I want to share 3 quick ways of how you can use the same product in different ways, so that you can rest assured investing in a huge variety of colours will only leave you wanting more.
-
Step 1
I created texture on a tag using texture paste applied through a stencil. Once the paste was dry, I added all 3 colours of inks to my tag using a pipette. Misted the inks with water a bit and let the ink flow and bleed together to create a colourful textured background.

Step 2
I used some white pieces of off-cut cardstock from my desk and added colour to them. I am creating strips of rainbow coloured cardstock that I will use to die-cut words or borders. Use a medium soft bristle paintbrush and paint each colour of API over the width of the strips od cardstock. I used each colour to go back over where the colours meet each other to blend them together well.

Step 3
Create a translucent painted effect over old book paper using your API. Because of the nature of the API’s they will show through any dark shades of text. I used my paint brush to paint the colours over a sheet of old book paper so that the text is still visible and makes for an interesting piece of paper to use on a card of a layout. Cover your book paper in 1 shade of ink of multiple colours for interest.
