The great thing about scrapbooking and crafting goodies is that you have instant themes available to you. This gorgeous range of papers by Celebr8 sparked some ideas for a teenage formal party for a girl. Let’s take a look at how this paper inspired me…

The beautiful paper was the inspiration behind this invitation and theme. I used two of the patterned papers to create a gate fold style invitation, wrapped in a gorgeous black satin ribbon and finished off with a beautifully painted chipboard mask from the same range.

A few ink splats in the same colours as the mask finished off an elegant and formal invitation with a fun twist.

To create the mask use a combination of All Purpose inks to paint the mask and then add a golden shimmer over it for a nice finishing touch.

• Step 1

  Use a Fantastix and paint the chipboard mask in three different colours. Start with the lightest colour and then blend the other colours into the lightest.



• Step 2

  To clean your Fantastix nib, simply cover it with a baby wipe for a few second. The baby wipe will absorb the ink colour and leave you with a clean nib to use for the next colour.



• Step 3

  To add the gold shimmer, pick up some Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink with your Fantastix and paint the entire surface with a layer of gold.



• Step 4

  Add two coloured feathers to a bamboo tooth pick. Use gold thread to wrap around the feathers and secure them in place. Seal the ends with a small drop of Anita’s 3D Clear Gloss.

A formal dinner will be served at this elegant birthday dinner-dance. And what better way to show guests to their seats than a beautiful nametag. For the nametag, I cut large feathers on the silhouette in black cardstock and printed simple names onto some of the patterned paper scraps and tied these to the feather with a gorgeous ribbon.

Once seated, guests will have access to their own personal menu. The menu is made out of patterned paper with a few simple embellishments and a gorgeous ribbon.

After dinner drinks and sweets are a must just before the dancing commences. Little cups filled with themed sweets and decorated with the same masks as used on the invitations are the perfect solution for a tasty and stylish treat. They also make a nice keepsake from a memorable night celebrated with good friends.
