I love stencils and it’s no secret. I think they have endless possibilities and each time you change the product you use with a stencil you can change the way it looks. You can use stencils on their own, combined with other stencils, layered, only portions of a stencil and so much more.

Today I am showing you how I used one of my favourite stencils with my favourite inks and pastes to create a gorgeous sign board.

• Step 1

  Add some Anna Griffin Embossing Paste onto a palette. Add a few drops of Delicata re-inker onto the paste. I used two colours but started off with Celestial Copper.



• Step 2

  Mix the re-inker into the paste. Make sure you mix it well. The ink will colour the paste to a beautiful copper colour.

[box type=”info”] TIP: The ink will lose some of its shimmer because of the paste, but once the coloured paste dries it will have a gorgeous soft and subtle shimmer.

• Step 3

  Use an old credit card or palette knife to spread the paste over the stencil. Remember to tape down your stencil with some washi tape to prevent it from moving.



• Step 4

  In the same mixture of coloured paste, add a few drops of Delicata Dark Brown shimmer re-inker. Mix the colour well into the paste to colour it a darker shade. Spread the darker shade on the left hand side of your stencil to fill it in.

• Step 5

  Carefully remove the stencil. Onto the wet paste sprinkle some pink glitter and leave to dry.



• Step 6

  Once the paste is dry shake off the excess glitter then add some extra decorative elements to complete your signboard.
