Stamp and Embossing – How To With Jowilna

Here’s how to create a realistic brick wall effect using inks you already have in your stash. A few weeks ago, I showed you how to create a brick wall effect using texture paste and a stencil. Well, guess what? Yes, I am doing it again but this time around using a stamp and embossing.

The moral of the story – you can create different looks with different products. So with each new look you can choose which you prefer for a specific project you have in mind and even for products you may have on hand. Versatility is key in crafting and different effects will keep things fresh and exciting.

  • Step 1

Use Tsukineko Bridal Embossing Powder and emboss the brickwork background image onto white cardstock.

  • Stamp and Embossing - Step 1

  • Step 2

Add a few drops of Chocolate All Purpose Ink to your embossed piece of paper and mist with water. Let the ink flow and cover the background as much as you want to. Use a heat gun to dry the cardstock piece or leave to dry naturally.

  • Stamp and Embossing - Step 2

  • Step 3

Once the ink is dry, use your Espresso Truffle Memento LUXE ink pad and add a layer of ink over the base layer of colour.

  • Stamp and Embossing - Step 3

  • Step 4

Then use the Love Letter Memento Luxe ink and add some red highlights to the brown to give it interest and a realistic brick wall look.

  • Stamp and Embossing - Step 4

The inks blend into each other beautifully for a lovely effect. Finish off your card with some beautiful elements for a male inspired card for someone special.
