Did you know that Soft Gel Medium is great for adding body and transparency to paint and ink?
It’s one of the ways that I can use my Soft Gel Medium together with my All-Purpose inks and mixed media products, powders and mica flakes to create interest, but also to make some amazing backgrounds for my projects.
For this card I used my Soft Gel mixed together with my All-Purpose Ink to create a beautifully bright, translucent paint that leaves gorgeous streak marks with dimension. For me it’s a perfect artsy background on a card or mixed media project.
Step 1
In a bowl or on your craft sheet, mix a small amount of Soft Gel Medium with a few drops of All-Purpose Ink together.
Step 2
Use a soft, medium sized paint brush and paint the mixture on white cardstock. First paint in one direction and then change direction to give a chequered effect. Then leave to dry.
The Soft Gel Medium leaves paint lines with gorgeous dimension and lots of interest.
Once your background is dry trim it to fit onto a card front and decorate using flowers and embellishments.
