Since discovering the Silhouette Print and Cut function, one can say that “addiction” comes to mind, although it is in the early stages I can feel it growing inside of me. I was so excited to figure out how easy it is to actually do. So the first I created was a layout and a matching card, simply by adjusting the sizing of my printed elements I could make whatever my heart desired in a few easy steps.

Here’s how

• Step 1

  Open your image that you want to print. If your go to the online Silhouette shop, images that can be printed and cut has a little [P] next to the image. Make sure to set your page size as well – my printer only prints on A4 so I set my paper size to 8.5×11 inches.



• Step 2

  Open the registration marks window. The registration marks are the little black corners printed open the paper along with the image, so that the Silhouette can read the marks and now where to cut.



• Step 3

  The black registration marks will print on the cardstock as indicated on the screen. If not then you need to back track and redo. No registration marks and the Silhouette will not know where to cut.



• Step 4

  In the top right hand corner. Select the Type 1 Cameo Portrait, or the type of machine you have.



• Step 5

  Move the image inside the red lines. The part of the image that is outside of the lines will not print and cut properly. So make sure the entire image is inside the lines.



• Step 6

  Send the image to your printer. Remember to insert the correct cardstock you want to print and cut. I used smooth white American Crafts cardstock cut to fit into my printer and print on.



• Step 7

  Once the image is printed, remove the printed image and add the cardstock to your cutting matt.



• Step 8

  Load the cutting matt into the Silhouette.



• Step 9

  Send the image to the Silhouette to cut. The Silhouette will first do a run through and ‘read’ the registration marks before starting to cut the image. For this image the Silhouette creates a bold red outline to show you exactly where and how it will cut out the image. Once cut you can peel the image and use it on your project as desired.

This is such an amazing function, and so easy to do. Please note that this is a quick and easy way of doing this step by step, and my process of doing it.
