Altering chipboard is one of my favourite things to do. With all the wonderful inks available there days it has become so easy. How you combine the inks and paints together determines the end results and look you can achieve.
For this stunning chipboard title I used my Memento Luxe ink pads to create a fun rainbow coloured effect.
Here’s how I created this effect
-
Step 1
Choose your chipboard that you want to colour.
-
Step 2
Choose your ink colours that you want to use.
-
Step 3
Start applying the colours to your chipboard. Lightly press the ink pad repeatedly onto your chipboard until it is covered in colour. Work in sections at a time.
-
Step 4
Once you have applied two colours, use a paintbrush dipped in water and blend the colours into each other by brushing over the ink where the colours meet each other. The nature of the ink allows you to blend the colours into each other with water to create a smooth transition.
-
Step 5
Continue adding the next two colours of ink. Blend the inks again using your wet paintbrush dipped into water.
-
Step 6
Use your watercolour paints to add coloured splats onto the chipboard title. Use 3-5 colours of paint to add splats. Leave the paint to dry.
-
Step 7
Once dry add a layer of dimensional glaze and leave to dry.
The rainbow coloured chipboard is a gorgeous effect – to colour your chipboard titles and elements in a few easy steps. And by using and layering your Memento Luxe inks you can truly create a unique custom look perfect for any layout and card.
