I have quite a few scoring boards in my stash – some are big and some are small. But this little guy right here may just be the best ever travel-sized mini scoring board I own. I dislike travelling with my stuff to scrap days and classes, but this here is a game-changer in so many ways.
It’s compact, does the job and there are some awesome hidden gems at the back of the scoring board. The other plus is that its small enough to store right here on my desk and I can grab it in seconds and use it. So convenient and handy!
I made a quick card using only my mini scoring board and a trimmer.
Step 1
I love the packaging on this tool – it’s open at the top and you can simply pull the scoring board out and insert it back again for safe and secure storage.
Step 2
Cut a 12×4” patterned paper strip. Score the strip on the 4” mark. Simply flip the strip the other way and score again at the 4” mark.
You now have 3 blocks of 4” each.
Step 3
Fold over the score lines and use the bonefolder to flatten the edges.
Step 4
Fold the outside flaps over to form triangles. Each side is folded in the opposite direction.
Step 5
Make sure to flatten the fold lines again.
Step 6
Now fold the sides in towards the middle and flatten the edges again for a nice clean fold. Decorate the inside of your card with a stamped panel.
Step 7
Cut a 1” (2,5cm) wide paper strip. Score ¼” lines on the entire strip using the scoring board. Fold the strip backwards and forwards to create mountain and valley folds. Create your rosette.
Step 8
Adhere the rosette to another 1” wide paper strip folded around the card to create a band. Cut out some large and medium doilies from the patterned paper and adhere to the front of the card. Add a flower in the top right-hand corner.
Step 9
Decorate the outside of the card using stickers and embellishments. Finish off with some gold splats using KAISERmists Gold.
