Mindfulness while Making – Stencil and Stamp

“How are you doing? I have been mindful of so many changes during this time – I have gained so much and lost so much – but weighing it all up I have gained more than expected.

Throughout this time, I stay mindful through my creativity. I continue to create beautiful pieces – nothing specific, I just make pretty stuff. And, also I am trying to use different colours that I don’t normally gravitate towards.

This piece is perfect for a card background or to be die-cut into something pretty or used on a layout – it is just really a pretty piece. ” ~ Jowilna Nolte

I pushed myself to use some different colours – and these colours turned out to be the perfect combination for winter. Below are the products I used.

Position and tape your stencil in place using some painters tape. Start blending ink colours through your stencil starting from the top to the bottom. Remember to overlap your colours to create a seamless blend.

While your stencil is still in place, use your white KAISERmist and add some white splatters over the inked areas.

Use your VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and your small Kaisercraft Texture Stamp – Paint Splatter over the stencilled background.

See how beautiful the different layers come together and form something special. I think it is much like us during lockdown – different experiences and emotions coming together and forming something new. In the end you need to decide how you will handle it all, or even how you will turn a simple background into something more meaningful.
