With the promise of Spring blinking in the distance I thought it a good idea to create some fun Spring blooms to celebrate that wonderful promise of warmer days filled with the fragrance of fresh flowers.
These pretty flowers have a little secret layer on top of them making them truly spectacular to use on any project. Let’s take a look at how you can dress up your flowers with a little magic.
-
Step 1
Use 3 colours of Memento ink pads to add colour to a piece of white technique cardstock. Lightly swipe each colour of ink across the strip of cardstock to add the colour. Use the second colour and slightly overlap onto the first colour and repeat again with the third colour.
-
Step 2
Use black Versafine ink and stamp your flowers onto the coloured strip of cardstock. When you are stamping your flowers, overlap some of the flowers so that you end up having multi-coloured flowers.
-
Step 3
Mix a small amount of White Pearl Pigment powder with water using a paint brush on a palette. Lightly paint a thin layer of pearl over the coloured flowers and leave to dry.
TIP: I use Fixative to seal the pigment powder so that it won’t rub off. Since this powder does not contain Gum Arabic, you can also mix a small amount of Gum Arabic into the powder and paint with it to make it permanent.
-
Step 4
Cut out your flowers and use them on your next Spring inspired project. The pearl powder gives the dye ink base a beautiful shimmering effect and looks truly amazing.
I loved making spring flowers using the exquisite pearl powder – it’s the perfect addition to make anything sparkle and shine!
