Madame Payraud Love Layout

There’s a new lady in town – Madame Payraud and she is simply stunning! This new range of papers by docrafts is everything you could need for a beautiful vintage layout or project. The range of papers covers everything from butterflies and travel to delicate script handwriting and old postcards, not to mention the beautiful old roses. Now that you know her a bit more personally, let me show you how to capture her beautiful spirit on a layout I made.

Madame Payraud Love Layout docrafts

Vintage infused with magical intrigue scrapbooking

I created a single page layout using this beautiful range of papers, stamps and dimensional elements. I started off creating a background by stamping the mini-typewriter alphabet directly onto my white background. This broke the whiteness of my background and also gave me a starting point. I then added bits of patterned papers for colour before adding embellishments and finishing touches.

To create a bit of a modern feel but not distract from the beautiful papers and elements I changed my photo to black and white. This by no means takes away the attention from my photo, but rather it makes the colours pop against the neutral background. The pink roses, blue butterfly, lovely burgundy and browns complement each other perfectly. This range of papers and embellishments would make for a perfect “Heritage” layout or vintage themed greeting cards. Together with the paper, the stamps and various embellishments in the range make for a good combination across the board.

How to stamp on your background

[custom_list type=”dot”]
  • STEP 1– Use the Versafine ink pad and ink the mini-alphabet stamp – I left the stamps on the plastic packaging sheet and inked them directly
  • Madame Payraud Love Layout Step01

  • STEP 2– Carefully turn over the stamp sheet and place it down onto your background cardstock
  • Madame Payraud Love Layout Step02

  • STEP 3– Apply pressure onto the stamps and carefully remove the sheet again. Clean the stamps using stamp cleaner and a soft cloth. Now you are ready to create your project.

Tips and hints

  • Leaving the stamps like the alphabet set on the packaging sheet you avoid having to get them perfectly aligned onto a stamping/acrylic block
  • If you have a very big stamp and not a big enough stamping block, you can also stamp in this way – it’s not always perfect but it works!
  • Have you seen the beautiful tissue paper, washi tapes and albums in the range?

Absolutely stunning! Love it! I admire your style. Smart idea with leaving the stamps on the packaging sheet. I bought the very same stamp set the other day, cant wait to use it in a similar way.
Thanks for the inspiration Jowilna :-)

  • Stunning page and love all the hidden detail. Thanks Jowilna for another inspiring page. pity we can’t get the papers etc from you!

  • This is absolutely beautiful – the colours and images just talk to me – well done Jowilna. Is there no chance you get get same packs and bring them with you to retreat? Otherwise, where to we turn to if we’d like this set? I see that the CNA is starting to keep a few of the docrafts goodies here and here – perhaps your influence can encourage them to keep more of the range for us ordinary scrappers can get the pages, and accessories. (You’re the extraordinary, and we’re the ordinary – but sometimes it takes the proverbial extraordinary to make the ordinary just that weeny bit better).

  • What a beautiful layout – just love it and especially when I battle on single pages. Thank you for sharing
