Living in a Bubble – Art Journaling Page

It goes without saying that I love art journaling and I love Rosie’s Studio – so with each new Rosie’s Studio Collection, I challenge myself to create a fun art journal page.

The Rosie’s Studio Vacay Collection is simply gorgeous and it spoke to me in so many ways. So little time and so many ideas is not always a bad thing, right?

Step 1:

I started off by creating my base by adding colour to my page using acrylic paints in different shades. Once done with my colours, I added some white gesso. I used my Little Birdie Mixed Media Paste and thinned it down with water to create a nice gesso consistency.

Step 2:

Once I was happy with my base, I used my Celebr8 stencil and Little Birdie Mixed Media Paste and added some stencilling for dimension. On top of stencilling, I added more colour using my watercolour paints.

Step 3:

The colour on top of the dimension highlights the pattern and creates more interest.

Step 4:

I selected my Vacay die-cut pieces and adhered them using Little Birdie Matt Gel medium. Once I was happy with my design, I added more details using a graphite pencil, white acrylic paint and stamping.

I love how I can incorporate all my die-cuts into my traditional scrapbooking and cardmaking but also in my art journals. And this fun range is going to see a lot more of me, and maybe sooner than later it will all spill out of the bubble and a little vacation will be on the cards… in my travelling art journal.
