Kaisercraft Die-Cut Inlays
Using die-cuts offers you loads of options for creativity. They are versatile and beautiful and each time you use them you can create a different look. I love creating and assembling inlays for my die-cuts using patterned paper and inks. Let’s take a look at how easy it is to create this stunning effect.
-
Step 1
Die-cut your flower and butterfly out of smooth white cardstock. Ink the die-cuts in a colour of your choice. Use the direct to paper technique to ink your die-cuts.
-
Step 2
Keep the inside pieces of the die-cuts once you remove the cut shape from the die. Ink the pieces in another colour and leave to dry or heat set.
-
Step 3
Make sure that you have all the pieces that fit inside the die-cut shape. Loosely place them inside the die-cut.
-
Step 4
Ink a piece of white cardstock and cut into a shape of a tag. Adhere the die-cut piece onto the tag shape and adhere the pieces inside the die-cut to fill in the openings.
-
Step 5
Create the same effect with your butterfly die-cut on a second tag.
I love the look of filling in the inner pieces – it gives a beautiful dimensional effect.
