Are any of you guilty of using the P word??? And, no, I am not talking about a naughty word, I am talking about Pinterest. How many of you, like me, are guilty of spending countless hours drooling over everyone else’s cards, layouts or paper projects without even taking out a piece of paper yourself.
Sometimes I FEEL like crafting but my energy levels are lying on the carpet so I craft with my eyes instead. That way I preserve my last 5% of energy and I don’t make a mess.
Well, I have decided to give myself a new challenge. If I spend more than 30 minutes on Pinterest I must choose one thing I have seen and replicate it with my own stash and try and put my own spin on it. So that is exactly what I did for the project I want to share with you today.
Kaisercraft’s August release includes a collection called Mix & Match. This range is quite quirky because each paper or sticker has a foundation of Kraft paper. It has four colours, red, white black and Kraft.
I thought it might challenge me but after laying it out on my desk I realised that the beauty of it is that whatever you put with it becomes the focal point of the project.
I have this photo that I took on a recent fishing trip that I love and I used it on a simple layout I found on Pinterest. Using squares cut at 2.5″ from a multitude of papers in the range, this layout came together so quickly and the photo is the star of the show.
I used the sticker sheet to make my title and I must say I am really very happy with the outcome.
So, by all means visit Pinterest…but use it to inspire you to actually craft. Get your hands inky, dust off that trimmer, get creative!

Where in hillcrest can we buy this paper please. KZN
Hi Shirley
The easiest way to find a good store is to visit our Store Locator (click here: http://bit.ly/craft-stores). You can search for retail or on-line stores via the map or you can simply use the ‘Download a Simple List’ button where you can select your region and even have the option to list all on-line stores (http://bit.ly/craft-stores-online) too.
stunning!
Love this layout so much! <3
