Kaisercraft Scrap Yard Glamour

Today I am so excited to share this layout with you. Again it is one of my favourites using the gorgeous Scrap Yard collection by Kaisercraft. This is such a grungy range of papers with loads of attitude and colour and texture, but on my layout I gave it a bit more of a glamourous feel by adding some bling in the form of beads, sequins, glitter. I love how this turned out – such a fun look to add to your design in a few easy steps.

Kaisercraft Scrap Yard - My Life Layout

Here’s how I created my layout step x step

  • From the check paper cut four 2cm wide strips. Ink the edges and adhere the strips flush with the top and bottom edge of your background cardstock.
  • Cut strips of patterned papers in different widths using 5 different patterns. I cut two strips of each design. Ink the edges.
  • Adhere the strips at an angle. I joined the two strips of the same kind together so that the pattern could run from top to bottom – 1 strip at an angle will not run from top to bottom hence cutting 2 strips and joining them in the middle.
  • Matt your photos and adhere them as per the sample image. Add some tile mesh behind some of the photos peeking out from the sides.
  • From the embellishment pack use the stars and hexagon shapes and add them to the background.
  • Use a pipette and drop some large ink splats onto the background using the Walnut ink Crystals mixed into water. Let the ink dry.
  • Add the barcode strip above the photos and anchor with brads.
  • Use a palette knife and smear some Modelling paste onto the background. While still wet, sprinkle the paste with beads, glitter, sequins and other confetti like embellishments. Leave it to dry. The modelling paste will dry clear and keep the glitter trail intact.
  • Finish off your layout with stamped words, diamanté and scattered brads.
