One of my favourite things in my stash are my ink sweepers from Tsukineko. These sweepers can make light work of just about any inky situation, but more than that they are truly versatile. I am currently using mine in my art journals for paint sweeping making light work of adding layers of paint onto my pages in a single sweep, and with no mess at all.
-
Step 1
Ink Sweepers are hugely compact and versatile making it easy to apply paints and inks to any surface. Use them to apply ink and paint through stencils for precision work.
-
Step 2
Place a single drop of paint on your art journal page.
-
Step 3
Use your ink sweeper to spread the paint across the pages in a single motion.
-
Step 4
Place the sweeper on the paint drop, then sweep it upwards and then back down across your page in a straight line.
-
Step 5
For this page I used the same sweeper for applying all my paint colours.
TIP: In between sweeping different paint colours I simply wiped my sweeper clean with a baby wipe and moved on to the next colour.
-
Step 6
Cover your entire page with paint stripes.
-
Step 7
Add Walnut ink splats and silver paint splats to the background.
-
Step 8
Add some stamping to your coloured page before finishing it off.
Once done with my paint sweeping, I washed the ink sweeper with some sunlight liquid and set it aside to dry completely.
