This week I am adding some more great colours to white cardstock and chipboard pieces using my Memento LUXE ink pads. These ink pads come in a myriad of colours and together they can create magic. Here I combine them for a fun water colour background and paint a chipboard element to create a beautiful card.

• Step 1

  Apply some paint onto your craft sheet, mist the paint with water and pick up the colour using a small paint brush. Paint your chipboard element by combining the colours together and blend them for a realistic end result.



• Step 2

  Next you need to create the background for the chipboard element. Notice how I kept the frame around the Protea to form a part of my overall look.



• Step 3

  Use your 3 colours of Memento LUXE ink and press the ink onto a palette. TIP: I used some packaging to work on, this way I could just throw it away once I was done with my technique.



• Step 4

  Mist the ink on your make shift palette with some water until the ink becomes runny.



• Step 5

  Press your smooth white cardstock into the ink and lightly press down onto it using your hands.



• Step 6

  Carefully lift the cardstock off of the palette to reveal the inked background. TIP: I like to then lift the palette and drop the remainder of the ink onto the same cardstock piece for additional inking – these drops will create some really interesting effects.



• Step 7

  Use a border punch and punch some small flowers out of coloured American Crafts cardstock.



• Step 8

  Adhere the chipboard piece to the coloured background, then add some sewing to the frame and finish off the panel by adhering some of your small punched flowers to the panel. A few small diamantes add a nice finishing touch to the punched flowers.

I love how this simple chipboard piece can now become a star feature on a card or layout by simply using a few ink colours and combining them in different ways to create a solid coverage of colour, but also a nice watercolour wash background.

These truly are versatile ink pads that can turn any piece into a work of art.
