With the festive season fast approaching what better way than to personalize gift packaging with small thoughtful gift giving.
I started off by buying some clear cupcake boxes from a baking store, but had to dress them up a bit as they were pretty bland. But with a few crafting products it was quick and easy to do. I used a circle stamp that I made myself to stamp images onto the clear plastic box.
For my project I used an old dry metallic silver StazOn ink pad, and re-inked it with Grey StazOn refill ink to stamp with. The interesting thing is that the grey mixed with some of the silver and created the most amazing effect – perfect for any festive celebration.
How to make your stamp

Use some craft foam and a circle die-cut and cut a circle out of the foam using your Cuttlebug machine. Then adhere the foam stamp with a strip of double sided tape onto an acrylic block. Ink the stamp with StazOn ink and stamp onto your plastic repeatedly until the surface is covered with the design.
Tips & Tricks
- You can remove the stamp at any time from the block and replace it with a new clean circle stamp.
- Combine bigger and smaller foam circles on a block for a fun and interesting custom made stamp.
- Use StazOn ink in different colours for a fun variation on the theme – multi-coloured dots on the boxes are a fun alternative for a kids’ birthday party.
- StazON ink is made to stamp on slick and shiny surfaces and will dry perfectly – do not heat set the ink with a heat gun because the plastic boxes will melt and curl
I kept my plastic box flat to stamp on and then once the ink was dry I folded the boxes and filled them with Christmas themed cupcakes – perfect for friends and family. A simple bow and Prima flower adds a nice finishing touch.
This handmade gift packaging will also be cute table toppers for a Christmas dinner or lunch – simply decorate it to match your theme and colour scheme.
