How do you spoil someone or say thank you when you are a crafter? Well you make something of course! Or rather you should make something, whether it is a quick card or a handmade gift box filled with their favourite chocolates.

So what better way to spoil some friends in the month of August when we celebrate women?

I made these 10 minutes boxes to fill with chocolates and used some of the gorgeous Lady Pattern Paper Egyptian Gold – how gorgeous are they?

Here’s how I made my gift boxes

• Step 1

  Cut two strips of paper the same width and length. Make sure that they can be divided into 3 equal pieces with a 1cm border on the two short edges. My strips measure 20cm long and 6cm wide.



• Step 2

  Use your bone folder and a ruler and score the paper strips at the following intervals: 1cm, 7cm, 13cm and 19cm. Fold them on the scored lines.



• Step 3

  Add some Tombow mono multi adhesive to the tab strips.



• Step 4

  Now adhere the tab inside the second strip as per the image.



• Step 5

  The tabs of the one strip are adhered inside the middle section of the second strip. Adhere the second tab, you can clearly see the box starting to take shape.



• Step 6

  Turn the box upright and adhere the bottom tab to the inside of the box using your Tombow adhesive.



• Step 7

  Die-cut or punch some tabs out of scraps of paper. Score them down the centre so that they can wrap around the sides of the box.



• Step 8

  Adhere the tabs to the bottom sides of the box to make it a bit stronger and close up those gaping sides. I also like how it adds that bit of extra decoration to the boxes.



• Step 9

  Now decorate the top of your box using die-cut flowers. I used my Couture Creations die to cut flowers from my paper scraps using every single bit of paper I could possible use.

All you need to do now is add another tab to the top front of your box, add some chocolates and seal it up and it is ready to be delivered.

This is such an easy way to create a quick handmade gift box using paper strips and some embellishments.
