With Love Handmade Christmas Cards

This year I am surprisingly ahead of my game making Christmas cards, one such a reason is because I have everything I need to make quick and easy cards, although they look quite involved and time consuming. Using embossing folders and die-cuts you can make quick cards in a production line fashion – saving you time and money.

Here’s how…

Use papers you have or cut up a sheet and make several cards.
If you are using double sided patterned paper I like am, then you can make half the cards using the front and half the cards using the back of the paper for a totally different look.
Cut all the same pieces and stack them in neat little piles in front of you. When you start your assembling embossing everything first before starting to put your cards together.
Die cut all your little bits and keep them together.
Have your embellishments in a small bowl to make them easy to reach.
Now start making your cards…

  • Step 1

Adhere the embossed background pieces to the front of your folded card base.

Back the punched circle areas with a piece of green patterned paper. Adhere the flag to the front of your card.

  • Step 3

Add sticker detail to the top of your card. This can also be stamped and coloured leaves or punched leaves.

  • Step 4

Staple the ribbon piece across the top portion of your card.

  • Step 5

Adhere the die-cut and embossed “with love” piece to the front of your card.

  • Step 6

Finish off your card using berries, diamanté and buttons as desired.

Embossed die-cut pieces

To create my embossed die-cut “with love” piece, I used an empty toilet paper roll and die cut my shape. This gave me a firm neutral palette to work with and I could recycle them into something useful. Then I embossed them using a sparkly embossing powder for a beautiful festive look.
