There’s something about dimensional images that makes me giddy – but in a good way! It makes an image come to life and brings a certain kind of appeal to an otherwise lifeless image. And that’s exactly what the 3D Decoupage images can bring to crafts – a new kind of appeal to cards, scrapbooking and altered projects.

Of course the new docrafts Gorjuss images become just so much cuter when they are 3D and that is what I would like to show you today. Unless you have done one of these 3D images you can’t really appreciate what they do for these amazingly artsy images of little miss Gorjuss™. So here’s how you go about building a 3D image in a few easy steps…

• Step 1

Select your image – this will be in the form of a base image printed on cardstock.

• Step 2

Gather the matching 3D images with which to build the dimension onto your base image.

• Step 3

Carefully pop out the images on the 3D sheet.

• Step 4

The images are clearly marked for your convenience so you know exactly which image to add next. There are usually 3 bigger parts to the image and then some smaller parts.

• Step 5

Add foam squares or tape to the back of the images you are going to use to add the dimension to the base image with. You can use foam tape or glue dots depending on the thickness you want to achieve.

• Step 6

For the second layer I used pop dots that were slightly thinner than my first layer of foam squares. This is because I wanted the layer to be slightly lower. This is of course your choice and creative freedom.

• Step 7

Add the last layer to the image. You can dress up your image using ink to chalk the edges, glitzing glamour glitter glues for some sparkle and so on…

• Step 8

Your 3D image is now fully assembled and can be used to decorate your project.

These 3D images are so easy to build and make for a great focal point. You can choose to use all the bits and pieces to build your image, or use only a few of the elements to achieve a slightly lower dimensional effect – but in the end you will have loads of fun using this time-saver product.
