A Beautiful Life
When I think about Glitz Designs, I think of beautifully themed products that make scrapping easy and economical. Glitz Designs are run by passionate girls who have families and know how precious and valuable their own time is, but also how precious time is for us as scrappers. And although I love making layouts that are filled with technique and loads of details, there are times when making memories are just more important than capturing them on a layout that takes up hours and hours of your time – when really you could be spending it with loved ones.
That is why Glitz products have become an essential part of my scrapbooking stash. Each range is carefully designed so that all the products complement each other perfectly and they can even cross pollinate to work with other ranges in their design stable. Their products are quick to pull together a layout with minimal effort which means that I can still create beautiful projects but in half the time.
About The Layout
For my layout this month I chose to focus on the beautiful French Kiss range of products. I simply love the beautiful neutral patterned papers with pops of oranges, hints of salmon pink and splashes of olive green. The papers were the starting point of my layout – and because I wanted to use as many papers as possible I chose to cut them into the popular honeycomb shape. I repeated the shapes by cutting my photos into a larger and smaller honeycomb, this way drawing attention to them. By cutting the patterned papers into smaller pieces I am able to eliminate that feeling of being overwhelmed by paper. I wanted to include some of the beautiful Glitzers, Title stickers and Rhinestones so I tucked them in between some beautiful Prima and Petaloo blooms – the perfect combination between bling and softness. To add some pattern and colour to my background I used Mister Huey’s ink on a honeycomb stencil and also added some random splashes of ink. A die-cut flourish from the Quilted Christmas Cartridge finishes off the layout along with some diamante.
I love how you can use different themed die-cuts and papers together to create a uniformed look. Looking at my flourish one could never say it was a Christmas themed element…unless you know. So now that the secret is out – why not experiment with your own stash creating beautiful layouts using unusual elements together.
I am focusing some more on the Glitz products this month with cards and gift ideas on my blog. So head on over and come see how I used my off-cuts to create come more beautiful projects.
