Die-cutting is a creative technique which has grown in popularity since the very first hand-held tool hit the market. With more universal accessories and creative solutions for crafters, the option to ditch scissors and die-cut is more affordable than ever before!
The exclusive Xcut XPRESS boasts an impressive A4 opening which is extra wide to accommodate larger dies and embossing folders. It has an easy turn gauge to adjust the roller to the required level and the extra depth can accommodate all major manufacturer’s dies. With these excellent new features cutting through paper, card, felt, foam, fabric, adhesive paper and even thin plastic is all possible. This amazing die-cutting machine will cut up to 3 layers of thin cotton fabric using Xcut metal dies and includes an A4 metal shim, A4 base plate and A4 cutting pad (replacements available). When open, two trays flip over to provide a flat, sturdy platform to work on and the soft grip handle, rubber feet and locking system provide excellent usability and stability. After use it neatly folds up into itself for easy storage and portability.

Both the Xpress & Cuttlebug are manual die cutting and embossing machines. Both machines take universal embossing folders & cutting dies. The one major difference between the two machines is that the Xcut Xpress is an A4 platform, whereas the Cuttlebug is A5. The recommended retail price for the Xcut Xpress is R 2999.00

Hi ladies. I am one of those fortunate people who has the privilege of testing these machines and it is absolutely amazing. One of the features is that there is an adjustable “dial” on the top of the machine so when it comes to using different thickness paper, materials, etc. its a breeze and of course the added advantage is the A4 bed. There are also some stunning new A4 dies and Embossing Folders available. So come on……what are you waiting for?? I LOVE it.

I need advice. I am a graphic designer that specialised in magazine design. That means I have all the design programmes anyone can dream of, but I’m thinking of starting a wedding invitation business. Doing die cuts, embossing etc. What is the best product for me to buy? I have enough start up capital and want something that will be able to do the work as smoothly as possible and can handle volume. I would also like to design my own die cuts etc. What product will be able to cater for my needs? Thanks

There are so many options and different ways of working that this could become a very long discussion. Also, there is not always a right way, but really a way that will work for each individual. As you know some people like Photoshop, others prefer Illustrator, it a matter of preference :)
However, from the sound of your request, I think that maybe you should be looking at an electronic cutting machine. Being a designer and having all the correct software at you disposal, it would probably best to look at the New Silhouette CAMEO®. The only downside to the electronic cutter is that it does not emboss and I see you mention embossing too. Most people find that using a combination of an electronic cutting machine, combined with a manual embossing machine works the best. The Xcut XPRESS is not as popular in our market as the smaller/cheaper machines.

We do, however, take special orders from stores should they request one of these. We are not importing the Xcut machine any longer. Some of the stores do still have stock, I would advise that you contact a retail store near you.
