While planning a wedding is serious business, there also needs to be time when things can get light hearted with a bit of fun thrown in too. For this wedding celebration with its modern-romantic feel we added a bit of a twist when it came to the food and tables.
For a table seating chart we opted for a fun approach, using decorated paper cups filled with popcorn to indicate the table numbers. The paper cups were wrapped in a distressed black printed wrapper and finished off with a printed circle element pulling through the theme from the wedding stationery.
This is a fun way of making sure that everyone gets to their allocated table while snacking on something while waiting for the meal to be served.
Since we created a fun menu with pancakes, ice-cream and other favourite items to celebrate the day, fun food labels were made using the same theme and colour scheme keeping everything neatly connected from start to finish.
To create these fun food labels, I printed some fun sayings onto the patterned paper used for the invitations and punched them into a 2” circle. To create the back I used the same black distressed paper as for the table number cups and punched them into the same 2” circles.
To join them together I adhered the two circles together with foam tape and inserted a tooth pick to act as a spoke. This way you can easily place the labels inside some of the food items making for fun decorations and visuals.
What I like most about creating fun elements for a crafty, handmade wedding is that you can do it on a budget that will suit you. Whatever your needs and wishes you can create something that will suit your pocket, making sure that you still have money left over for a romantic island honeymoon.
After all, wedding stationery and elements, no matter how pretty and costly will be thrown away at the end of the day – so spend your budget wisely and create your own range of wedding elements from invites through to decorations, to suit your personality and wallet.
And there you have it the DIY Wedding part three covering all the fun stuff! Hope you enjoyed this series of posts.
