Have you tried the NEW Cricut Offset function? It’s so much fun and the possibilities are endless. I am still on an organizing mission and clearing out clutter (the theme for 2020/2021) and I can’t believe how much fun I am having creating labels for everything using my Cricut Maker.
How to:
Today I am sharing a recycled tin perfect to store my markers in. I created the label in Design Space but wanted something fun, so I turned to the offset function.
Step 1
Design your 2 words separately. Size the bottom bold word “markers” to fit onto your tin. Then create the “alcohol” word in a script font and fit it onto the ‘markers’ word. Size it until you are happy with the look.
Move “alcohol” off and then apply the off-set function. I made the off-set smaller than the default setting by sliding the slider to the left.
I then moved the offset only onto the “markers” and once happy used the slice function.
Step 2
Here you can clearly see the sliced offset out of the markers word.
I then removed the offset and deleted it.
Place the word alcohol right back into the sliced space and grouped it all together before cutting it out of vinyl. Weed around the words once cut.
TIP: Leave the vinyl piece on your cutting mat to make weeding easy. The matt holds your vinyl in place.
On this one, I could also cut the word ‘alcohol” out of a different colour of vinyl and apply it afterwards for a gorgeous two-toned look
Step 3
After weeding the words apply transfer tape.
Step 4
Use your scraper tool to burnish the vinyl onto the tin.
