Create your own Planner Dividers – Jowilna’s Advanced Class

If you read all about how I am planning to get more organized using my beautiful Kaisercraft Planner then you will remember that I am still getting used to the idea of dressing up planners with loads of stuff…And so I am rather choosing to dress my planner up in my own unique way.

So today I am sharing how I incorporated my ‘word for 2018’, while adding decorative elements to my planner, and at the same time using up some scraps and some of my favourite things from The Wholesaler – all in 1.

  • Step 1

Use whatever cardstock you want for your divider. I always have piles of white smooth cardstock lying around with ink experiments and samples on them. They make perfect backdrops for small projects like this.

  • Step 2

I grabbed some of my favourite stencils, masks, paints and products to use on my dividers.

  • Step 3

For my focal point, I cut this silhouette image of a woman out of Stencil Vinyl material on my Silhouette machine. Position the image where you want it to be on your background. Pick up a small amount of navy blue paint using your Jumbo Dauber and apply it over the stencil randomly.

  • Step 4

Once the paint is almost totally dry carefully peel away the stencil/mask.

  • Step 5

Use your same dirty dauber and pick up a small amount of turquoise paint and randomly apply dots all over the background.

TIP: you could have left the mask in place while creating the background to avoid getting paint onto the silhouette.

  • Step 6

Pick up gold paint or a Delicata reinker and apply it using your jumbo dauber over the Kaisercraft Floral stencil. Leave the background to dry completely.

TIP: When you apply paint with a Jumbo Dauber in thin layers the paint dries extremely quickly. This makes a project like this a dream to create because you don’t have to wait for layers to dry in between. Things can move fairly quickly to the next step or layer of application.

  • Step 7

Use Versafine Onyx Black ink and alphabet stamps to stamp your word, quote or phrase onto your divider.

  • Step 8

Add details using a white gel pen, graphite pencils and other art mediums. These little finishing touches can define your images and just adds a little bit of extra detail needed for something special.

All that is left for me to do now is truly find that balance in 2018.
