Ever find yourself in need of something specific that you don’t have right away? Well remember that you can always make your own. I wanted to use a specific colour acrylic paint that I don’t have, so I used my Couture Creations pigment powders and gesso to make my own paints for an art journal page.

Step 1
Add a small amount of gesso onto a palette.

Add some pigment powder onto the gesso and then add a small amount f water. The water helps the pigment to mix into the gesso a little bit easier.

Step 3
Paint the pigment paint onto a sheet of white cardstock using the first colour you mixed.

Step 4
Paint the next colour of pigment paint your mixed, each time cleaning your palette and brush to avoid contamination between the colours.

Step 5
Continue filling the background with colour. Lastly, mix gold pigment and using your flat brush add brush strokes to the background. Add s stencilling, stamping and scribbles to your art journal page to finish it off.
