Chipboard Elements – Jowilna’s Favourite Things

One of my favourite things to use in projects is chipboard elements and words. But I don’t always want to colour them in the same way – sometimes you want something different. With the GoPress and Foil machine, the game has totally changed and one of my favourite products can now be all dolled up and shiny!

  • Step 1

Place the chipboard design face down on your machine to heat up the design.

  • Step 2

Once the green light goes on, remove the chipboard quickly using your tweezers.

  • Step 3

Place the foil face down on the bed, then place the chipboard with the design you are foiling face down on the foil.

  • Step 4

Place a piece of cardstock on top of the chipboard and an extra shim if need be.

  • Step 5

Roll the GoPress through the GoCut machine slowly and with a steady speed.

  • Step 6

Remove the chipboard from the machine. A quick test to see if it all foiled nicely is to check if you can see the impression of the chipboard shape or words.

  • Step 7

Carefully peel away the foil from the chipboard to reveal the beautiful words and effects.

TIP: don’t throw away your negative piece.

  • Step 8

Large chipboard surface areas look amazing foiled.

  • Step 9

Use a glue stick to adhere your negative foil piece to white cardstock to create an additional element or for a quick card background.

TIP: Apply the adhesive to your cardstock, then carefully place the foil piece down onto the glue and smooth it out using a soft cloth.

  • Step 10

Matt your foiled piece on patterned paper to make a quick card and to utilize all of your beautifully foiled elements and off-cuts.
