In the month of August we are celebrating women – for me it is a time to celebrate the real friendships in my life, those women who lift me up when I am down, who are happy with me when something good happens and sad when I need time out, they are there through thick and thin – and I salute them for being real in my life.

So this layout is dedicated to 2 of those special women in my life, and how fitting for it to be in all gold! To celebrate the golden moments we share together golden in the good times and even golden in the not so good times. They are always there.

On this layout I used the gorgeous Lady Pattern Paper Papers to create flow. I simply cut a long strip of paper and then cut it in half to adhere it diagonally across my background – leaving a huge big gap in the middle, which in return gets covered by the matted photo.

And that’s how easy it is to create diagonal stripes on your layout – with a bit of cheating.

I joined the strips visually by using ordinary gold thread to do my sewing with.

Two different gold inks was used to create ink splatters with. The inks splats was made using my Gold Foil Bloom Spray and Vegas Gold All Purpose ink and a small paint brush. I love how the different shades of gold all come together on this layout.

As part of my title I used the Celebr8 stamp that I embossed using gold embossing powder – it is not perfect but I used it anyway, embracing imperfection in creativity is huge – try it sometime.

 

Gold diamante and a charm finishes off my layout making this a special tribute to two really special friends in my life. So here’s to celebrating women in your life and in your friendship circle – go on celebrate them in style – Egyptian Gold style!
