Today I am dressing up some beautiful Celebr8 Butterfly Chipboard Elements using a variety of products. Creating interest on your chipboards can be challenging if you keep on using the same techniques over and over again, but with all the amazing and affordable products available you can change things up and add lots of interest.
I used VersaFine Clair ink for colouring, Little Birdie Silver Wax for adding highlights and details, and Tsukineko Embossing Powder for that beautiful shimmer to finish it off.
Step 1
Colour your chipboard using the direct to paper technique by lightly tapping the ink onto the chipboard. Apply the colour only partially.
Step 2
Use your next colour and ink the rest of the chipboard – you basically want to create a two-tone effect. You can even use a third colour of ink.
Step 3
Apply a small amount of silver wax to the centre part of the butterfly. I lifted a bit of wax with my finger and rubbed it out across the surface.
Step 4
Ink the chipboard piece with VersaMark Watermark Ink. The VersaFine Clair is embossable, but I reinked with VersaMark Watermark to make sure the embossing powder takes well. So basically, for safety sake.
Step 5
Sprinkle the embossing powder over the surface, I used the Sparkle, then heat set and leave to cool down.
My butterfly chipboard elements are now perfectly gorgeous for my next project.
