Black Yupo and Alcohol Inks – it’s a magical affair!

Have you tried your hand at the Couture Creations Black Yupo paper yet? Well, let me tell you it’s quite deceiving and wonderfully amazing all at the same time. It gives new meaning to throwing ink on paper – because throwing ink onto this black surface is not always what you expect. Even when you think the colour does nothing, there is this wonderful and magical effect waiting on the other side of expectation. So my advice to you is play, experiment, throw even more colour onto it, but stick to Metallics and Fluro colours and of course don’t forget the Glitter – the combination is pure heaven.

How to:

I was simply playing and experimenting with this piece that later turned into a panel for a card. I just loved experimenting with all the different colours to see what will show up and make for a wow effect, until I had a background that I loved.

On top of the stark black background, I added a butterfly and sentiment with a few pearls. And in just a few minutes this gorgeous card came together, by simply playing and having fun.

The moral of the story – there is no right or wrong – there is only fun with the possibility of beauty on the other side – and maybe a do-over in which case it means you are lucky enough to try and try again while having loads of fun.

So embrace the beauty of today that surrounds you…even if it means unpacking your art and craft supplies all around you. Embrace that for today and be thankful always!
