Décor elements have become as much a part of the scrapper’s lives as embellishments and beautiful paper. Scrappers live, eat and love paper and all the things one can do with it. So naturally when I spotted this beautiful wooden bird house it had to be decorated and lovingly decorated with blooms and pretty papers.

To add life to this wooden beauty I first painted it with a brown acrylic paint before adding a layer of patterned papers from the oh-so beautiful PB&J BasicGrey collection. The collection is bright and happy! For the front of the bird house I chose a picnic theme using the BasicGrey 3678 PB&J Element Stickers to set the mood. I layered 2 stickers on top of each other using the fabulous Pop-up dots. The strawberries on the top sticker were further decorated using ADCO 721971 Couture Creations Glitzin’ Glamour Crystalina glitter glue. I love the way the glitter glue adds a slight shimmer. The beautiful Prima Carnation flower wraps beautifully around the edges and was accompanied by more lovely Prima blooms in different colours and textures. By combining different textures against the bold brown background, the flowers bring a gorgeous softness to the entire project.

The back of the bird house was done simply using patterned paper and two stickers layered together with some dimension. Stickers are quick and easy to use on projects, and with the new ‘modern’ take on these old favourite even I have fallen in love with the simplicity of using these beauties on my projects. So the next time you need to dolly up a little project use some themed sticker sheets together with matching papers for a lovely executed off-the-page project.
