How will you be inspired creatively in 2017? I am looking towards the trend masters for some guidelines and am here to share them with you. One trend that has caught my eye is geometric shapes. I love shapes and the thought of repeating them with paper and ink excites me.
I created a quick card and an embellishment to use on a layout inspired by this trend – and absolutely love how this basic concept worked out. Along with the trend of shapes I added some colour trends into the mix which made being creative so easy. I look forward to how these trends will evolve into other areas of my creativity.
-
Step 1
Adhere double sided tape onto cardstock.
-
Step 2
Cut 5mm strips on your trimmer out of cardstock.
-
Step 3
Adhere the strips to the double sided tape. Cut the coloured piece into 3cm wide strips at an angle.
-
Step 4
Cut the angles strips into squares.
-
Step 5
Adhere four blocks together onto a base cardstock square. Add an embellishment to the centre of your geometric block and use it on a card or layout.
-
Step 6
Trim the remainder of the strips into triangles. Randomly adhere the triangles to a card for a fun geometric look. Finish off with a few embellishments and a sentiment.
What 2017 trends will you follow and look towards for inspiration this year?
