With last minute preparations and decorations going on for Christmas I needed to make some more decorations for the tree as well as labels for gifts. So what’s a girl to do? Well, she turns to her trusty Cricut Expression 2 and gets creative.

I love the fact that when you buy the Cricut Expression machine it has some images and fonts loaded onto the machine already. So you are good to go even without any cartridges.

I picked a simple frame design from the already loaded Cricut Alphabet design and turned it into a ‘Christmas Bauble’ by adding some decorations and a ribbon to hang them onto the tree with. I cut 2 shapes for each bauble and mounted them on top of each other using Pop Dots for dimension. To turn the same design into a label for a gift parcel simply turn it horizontally and use the holes on the sides to tie a ribbon right around the parcel. Print your recipients’ name onto cardstock, punch it into a circle and adhere to the front of the die-cut label. Add finishing touches like diamante, beads and glitter to add to the festivities.

 

A step x step guide of cutting and preparing the 10 minute Christmas baubles:

• Step 1

  Adhere your chosen coloured cardstock to the cutting matt and load it into the machine.

  Select the design you want to cut and set the size and position where to cut.

  I repeatedly cut the same design four times so that I could double them up onto one bauble design. I love how easy it is to see exactly where the machine is cutting the next design. No more wasting of paper!

  Carefully remove the cut images from the cutting matt as not to tear the delicate swirls at the top and bottom of the design.

  Decorate the cut elements using patterned papers, glitter, micro beads and ribbon.

I created these baubles in 10 minutes only because of the Cricut Expression machine. This machine enables you to cut and create in less time making it very economical. The possibilities really are endless in a few easy steps.
