1 Stamp 2 Ways with 49 and Market – Take 3

In this final article using 49 and market stamps we take a look at how using different products with one stamp can change the look but also give you a totally different look and feel. If you have a single stamp and a variety of products then you can create various looks on cards and on your layouts simply by adjusting and changing the products used with your stamps.

For my first card I used the woodgrain stamp, stamped it multiple times and then heat embossed it using white embossing powder.

  • Step 1

Stamp the woodgrain image onto white cardstock. Alternate each stamped image and slightly overlap each one of them onto the other to create a seamless pattern.

  • Step 2

Sprinkle the stamped images with white embossing powder and shake off the excess. Use your heat gun to melt the powder until shiny.

  • Step 3

Use Memento inks to add colour. Press two colours next to each other onto your craft sheet and mist with water. Dip the embossed piece into the ink repeatedly until fully coloured. Leave the panel to dry and then use it as a background on your card or on your layout.

[box type=”info”] TIP: The white embossing acts as a resist to the ink and makes the embossed woodgrain image stand out. Repeat this process using natural browns and creams for a fun beach themed layout creating driftwood pieces.

On my second card I used the same stamp, stamped in black ink and used as a sentiment panel. Here’s how I created the look…

  • Step 4

Use a thin strip of washi tape and add a piece to the centre portion of your woodgrain stamp.

  • Step 5

Ink the stamp with the washi tape on using VersaFine Black Onyx ink.

  • Step 6

Carefully peel off the strip of washi tape from your inked stamp. I used a paper piercer to lift and remove the tape so that I don’t smudge the inked portions of my stamp.

  • Step 7

Stamp the image onto an inked piece of cardstock that you will use on your card.

  • Step 8

Use a sentiment and stamp it inside the masked out piece created by the washi tape.

Now adhere the panel to your card and add some decorative elements.

And that’s how easy it is to make your stamps work for you – simply change your products and the way you see your stamps and create some really interesting effects for your next project.

Happy stamping! May you have many more exciting projects of how to use 1 stamps 2 ways…or more!
