I am in love with the pretty papers, soft colours, beautiful elegant ribbons, fun stitched tags and my personal favourite those beautiful detailed rubber stamps. My favourite of course is the Runaway Gorjuss on her horse \u2013 ready for adventures or simply disappearing into a magical world of her own.<\/h3>\n<p>I used the Runaway rubber stamp to create a card combined with my favourite American Crafts Smooth Cardstock. I can\u2019t imagine life without cardstock that is smooth \u2013 it enables me to stamp perfect images, but also to colour them in using my favourite markers. The smooth cardstock will give me a crisp image when stamped, but also allows me to add a flawless layer of colour just the way I like it.<\/p>\n<p>The smooth cardstock takes water well and without the texture is perfect for stamping, inking, techniques, texture paste and stencilling to mention a few. This is my go-to cardstock these days because I can create the look I want without worrying about the texture getting in the way of my creativity. Give it a try and you too will soon fall in love!<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Smooth-Cardstock-Punched.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Smooth-Cardstock-Punched.jpg\" alt=\"Simply Gorjuss Smooth Cardstock Punched\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The other advantage of the smooth cardstock is that you can punch images from it using even the most delicate of punches. The paper is firm yet soft and leaves a crisp punched image without edges that is fluffy or uneven. The perfect companion to your favourite punches\/border punches giving your creativity even more possibilities.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-01.jpg\" alt=\"Simply Gorjuss Step 01\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Here\u2019s how I created my card<\/h3>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>I folded my card out of Coffee AC smooth cardstock and then layered a piece of patterned paper on top of it from the Gorjuss 6&#215;6\u201d paper pack.<\/li>\n<li>Stamp and colour the image using your Artiste markers. Punch the image into a large circle and then matt onto a contrasting colour from the same 6&#215;6\u201d paper pack. Adhere to the front of your card as per the sample.<\/li>\n<li>Add sewing details as desired around the edges using a sewing machine. Adhere the stitched tag in place.<\/li>\n<li>Punch leaves from the Taffy (pink) AC smooth cardstock and arrange around the edge of your circle.<\/li>\n<li>Finish off your card with additional paper flowers, punched flowers, diamant\u00e9 and ink splats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-02.jpg\" alt=\"Simply Gorjuss Step 02\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Stamping with your artiste markers<\/h3>\n<p>Artiste markers are great for stamping too. This makes life so much easier when you need to scrap on the go. I often pack a small bag to take on trips and if you want to colour and stamp these markers is your best friend.<br \/>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>With the long tip of your marker and turning it flat, colour the top of your stamp in the colour of your choice.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-03.jpg\" alt=\"Simply Gorjuss Step 03\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>Use a water misting bottle and lightly mist the inked stamp.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-04.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-04.jpg\" alt=\"Simply Gorjuss Step 04\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>Place the stamp onto your smooth white AC cardstock and apply pressure to transfer the image.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-05.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Simply-Gorjuss-Step-05.jpg\" alt=\"Simply Gorjuss Step 05\" class=\"gallery_full\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>Lift the stamp and clean before storing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Tips and hints<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Never use the tip to colour in your stamps but rather the flat edge of the marker to avoid damaging the tips when you apply pressure<\/li>\n<li>By misting the ink with water you moisten it up making the ink wetter for stamping and gives you a watercolour effect while stamping<\/li>\n<li>The dual tip markers are perfect for colouring in with the round tip, using them with water to paint and to stamp \u2013 a 3 in one go-to marker for adding colour to your life<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Hope you enjoy creating your own Simply Gorjuss projects! I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few. I travel regularly to various shows teaching and presenting lectures on scrapbooking, card-making and creativity. I have been published several times in American publications such as Taken Ten Magazine, Catch Up Issue \u2013 both Somerset Publications. I was also asked to be a guest artist by Taken Ten Magazine for one of their issues in which an entire article was dedicated to my work. In December 2011, I made my television debut by presenting Christmas Crafts on 3 Talk with Noeleen. After a bit of a sabbatical with my on-line classroom website Scrapcouture, we are busy revamping it with a fresh new approach to bringing creativity and new techniques to people all over the world. Other than that I spend lots of time scrapbooking and making cards and teaching classes weekly in Gauteng as well as throughout South Africa. I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few.
