With its bright pink, orange, navy and turquoise accents the black and white is simply perfect. Never before have I seen a black that is not as harsh on the eye as this one. The black has a blackboard softness to it that can only be described as a \u2018halo\u2019 effect that softens every pigment in the paper. I love how the bright orange and blues complement the soft pink and grey. There is a certain air to the designs that will complement any scrapping theme perfectly. As an accent I used a combination of my paper scraps to create a paper pieced flower as one of the main decorative elements on my layout. I love how simple the idea is but you can create a myriad of looks using the same stamp.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Teresa-Collins-Family-Stories-Brads.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Teresa-Collins-Family-Stories-Brads.jpg\" alt=\"Teresa Collins - Family Stories - Brads\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How to make the Paper pieced flower<\/h3>\n<p>You will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Large flower stamp<\/li>\n<li>Black VersaFine Ink pad<\/li>\n<li>Scraps of paper<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 1<\/h3>\n<p>Stamp a large flower stamp onto a scrap piece of paper and then cut it out on the outer edges of the stamped lines. This flower will be used as the base onto which the paper piecing will be done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Teresa-Collins-Family-Stories-STEP-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Teresa-Collins-Family-Stories-STEP-1.jpg\" alt=\"Teresa Collins - Family Stories - STEP 1\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 2<\/h3>\n<p>Repeatedly stamp the same flower onto scraps of patterned paper used on your layout. There are five petals so you could use five different papers to complete the flower, meaning that you need to stamp the flower five times onto different papers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Teresa-Collins-Family-Stories-STEP-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Teresa-Collins-Family-Stories-STEP-2.jpg\" alt=\"Teresa Collins - Family Stories - STEP 2\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<p>Cut out the different petals from each of the patterned papers. Nolte\"},\"description\":\"I have been in the industry for 15 plus years now and have loved the more than interesting journey it has taken me on so far. I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few. I travel regularly to various shows teaching and presenting lectures on scrapbooking, card-making and creativity. I have been published several times in American publications such as Taken Ten Magazine, Catch Up Issue \u2013 both Somerset Publications. I was also asked to be a guest artist by Taken Ten Magazine for one of their issues in which an entire article was dedicated to my work. In December 2011, I made my television debut by presenting Christmas Crafts on 3 Talk with Noeleen. After a bit of a sabbatical with my on-line classroom website Scrapcouture, we are busy revamping it with a fresh new approach to bringing creativity and new techniques to people all over the world. Other than that I spend lots of time scrapbooking and making cards and teaching classes weekly in Gauteng as well as throughout South Africa. I am passionate about what I do and I have had many amazing experiences and met so many famous people throughout my creative journey. I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few. I travel regularly to various shows teaching and presenting lectures on scrapbooking, card-making and creativity. I have been published several times in American publications such as Taken Ten Magazine, Catch Up Issue \u2013 both Somerset Publications. I was also asked to be a guest artist by Taken Ten Magazine for one of their issues in which an entire article was dedicated to my work. In December 2011, I made my television debut by presenting Christmas Crafts on 3 Talk with Noeleen. After a bit of a sabbatical with my on-line classroom website Scrapcouture, we are busy revamping it with a fresh new approach to bringing creativity and new techniques to people all over the world. Other than that I spend lots of time scrapbooking and making cards and teaching classes weekly in Gauteng as well as throughout South Africa. I am passionate about what I do and I have had many amazing experiences and met so many famous people throughout my creative journey.
