So naturally I approach my colouring in of stamped images in the same artistic non-perfect-outside-of-tie-lines kind of way \u2013 the more natural and watercolour like the better for me. And for that reason I love the Artiste Dual Tip Markers.<\/h3>\n<p>These <a title=\"docrafts - Artiste\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Artiste-Dual-Tip-Brush-Markers\">Artiste Dual-Tip Brush Markers<\/a> are available in sets of 12 markers in a pack. The colour ranges are sorted in Vintage, Brights and Pastels making it easy to pick the colours you want to work with.<\/p>\n<p>They Each Have a Brush Tip and a Fine Point that can be used for larger areas or for writing depending on your needs and application purposes. They are perfect for any use in Card Making, Scrapbooking and many other Crafting Projects.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Dual-Tip-Markers.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Dual-Tip-Markers.jpg\" alt=\"docrafts Artiste Dual Tip Markers\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Artiste markers in short&#8230;<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Permanent dual-tip brush markers in co-ordinating colours<\/li>\n<li>High-quality permanent colour<\/li>\n<li>Versatile: use them with stamps, to shade designs or add text<\/li>\n<li>Add dramatic effects to cards, gifts, scrapbooks, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Add stunning detail like edging and accents<\/li>\n<li>Acid Free<\/li>\n<li>Non Toxic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are a more structured kind of crafter then these may not be for you. These markers are not alcohol based but water based \u2013 which means that they need to be approached like watercolour paint. They can be used directly onto paper and <a title=\"AC Cardstock\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/AC-Cardstock\">cardstock<\/a> but shading the colours requires water and a paintbrush. Using the brush tip and colouring onto some types of cardstock will leave you with a streaky look however.  I used them on watercolour paper and that was perfect \u2013 but use them on ordinary white cardstock with water and the paper may \u2018fluff\u2019 causing the top layer of the paper to separate from the bottom due to the water added. On a smooth white cardstock the markers worked really well even when combined with water.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Joy Card<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Gorjuss-Card.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Gorjuss-Card.jpg\" alt=\"Artiste Colouring Gorjuss\u2122 Card\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For my card I used the beautiful new range of <a title=\"docrafts - Gorjuss\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Gorjuss\">Gorjuss\u2122 stamps<\/a>. I stamped the image onto watercolour paper using <a title=\"Tsukineko - VersaFine Ink Pad\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/VersaMagic-Dew-Drops\">VersaFine Ink in black<\/a>. I then used my <a title=\"docrafts - Artiste\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Artiste-Dual-Tip-Brush-Markers\">Artiste Markers<\/a> to add some colour. And because I love the artistic not so perfect look I even coloured outside the lines and that\u2019s OK too. Here\u2019s how I did it\u2026.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 1<\/h3>\n<p>Using the brush tip, turn it onto its side and scribble some colour onto an acrylic block or palette.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step1.jpg\" alt=\"Artiste Dual Tip Markers - Colouring Step 1\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 2<\/h3>\n<p>Lightly mist the ink on the acrylic block with water.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step2.jpg\" alt=\"Artiste Dual Tip Markers - Colouring Step 2\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<p>Use a small soft paintbrush to lift the colour and apply it directly to your image. Use less and more water to achieve darker and lighter areas.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step3.jpg\" alt=\"Artiste Dual Tip Markers - Colouring Step 3\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 4<\/h3>\n<p>To add colour to the socks I used the pen tip and coloured the small areas directly. Because the areas are small colouring them directly worked really well and did not leave any visible lines. The pen tip also enabled me to go over the lines and add darker shading around the edges.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step4.jpg\" alt=\"Artiste Dual Tip Markers - Colouring Step 4\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 5<\/h3>\n<p>For the hair I used a golden yellow marker called \u201cwheat\u201d. The pen tip was used to outline the hair and then trace the inside lines. Afterwards I went back over the entire hair piece using the water colouring method described in step 1 and 2 above.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step5.jpg\" alt=\"Artiste Dual Tip Markers - Colouring Step 5\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 6<\/h3>\n<p>As a final touch I painted a layer of Mister Huey colour mist \u201cshine\u201d over the image. This left my image with a beautiful sheen without taking away from the colour.<\/li>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Artiste-Colouring-Step6.jpg\" alt=\"Artiste Dual Tip Markers - Colouring Step 6\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have some more interesting and easy techniques lined up using the Artiste markers. I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few. I travel regularly to various shows teaching and presenting lectures on scrapbooking, card-making and creativity. I have been published several times in American publications such as Taken Ten Magazine, Catch Up Issue \u2013 both Somerset Publications. I was also asked to be a guest artist by Taken Ten Magazine for one of their issues in which an entire article was dedicated to my work. In December 2011, I made my television debut by presenting Christmas Crafts on 3 Talk with Noeleen. After a bit of a sabbatical with my on-line classroom website Scrapcouture, we are busy revamping it with a fresh new approach to bringing creativity and new techniques to people all over the world. Other than that I spend lots of time scrapbooking and making cards and teaching classes weekly in Gauteng as well as throughout South Africa.
