Every now and again it’s time for a new doormat, right? What better way to welcome unwanted and wanted guests to your home. Have some fun and make something really cool with your Cricut Maker.
\nAll you need is a plain doormat, some black paint and some stencil film \u2013 and of course, a Cricut Maker helps too.<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

How to:<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Now, if you know me well then you will know that I am not too stressed about perfection. Life is not perfect, and I don\u2019t claim to be either. So instead of throwing a tantrum when I didn\u2019t have enough black paint on hand to create this project, I simply turned to the easiest next solution \u2013 spray paint.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 1<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

I cut the initial design out of a piece of stencil film using my Cricut Maker on a 12×24\u201d light grip {blue} cutting matt. The sticky back did not stick too well to the mat, but that\u2019s ok too.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 2<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Adhere it to the mat and then use a sponge dauber to dab black paint through the design. Don\u2019t use too much paint but rather repeat the process several times to avoid bleeding and get better coverage for a clear design. Or as in my case spray over the design repeatedly in thin layers.<\/p>\n

TIP: with the spray paint there will be a little bit of overspray, but I am totally fine with that.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 3<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Carefully peel off the stencil film and remove the inside smaller pieces of the letters.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 4<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Remember to seal with a clear sealant to ensure your design lasts a little bit longer.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
