One of the things I really enjoy about my Cricut Maker is that I can use everyday items and alter them, upcycle them and just create \u2013 I can experiment and still make pretty things. Cricut opens up so many possibilities. And in a time where mental health is so important, this right here can be a life saver. Simply take something that you have and be creative \u2013 whether it is perfect or not doesn\u2019t matter. It is the process that counts.<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

How to:<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

With this empty bottle, I wanted to try out a little fun element before I set out to do the actual thing I want to do. So here goes that perfectly imperfect recycled vase.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 1<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Cut the design from Cricut Design Space #4698 Floral Stencilled Napkins out of black or any scrap vinyl.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 2<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Weed the inside of the vinyl by removing the actual leaves and discard the positive of the image.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 3<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Cut the vinyl piece smaller.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 4<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Weed the vinyl piece around the block.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 5<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Add transfer tape to your vinyl piece and burnish using your scraper.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 6<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Apply the vinyl to your bottle or surface and use your scraper to make sure the vinyl is burnished really well \u2013 especially where the cut-out image is.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 7<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Use masking tape or painters tape and tape the rest of the bottle to avoid any paint reaching the surface area.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 8<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Using spray paint, spray over the stencil portion \u2013 the cut-out area. It was raining when I did this, and I was impatient, so my edges are not perfect. But I love the effect.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Step 9<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Carefully peel the masking tape and then remove the vinyl once the spray paint is dry.
\nAnd all you need to do now is pick some fresh blooms from the garden (when it\u2019s not raining) and enjoy your quick little project, recycling and upcycling a glass bottle.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

And now I am off to cut those gorgeous leaves minus the flower really, really big for another project.
