Making handmade greeting cards is one of the most satisfying things you can do. Seeing the joy of someone receiving a beautifully crafted card made especially for them is just so amazingly satisfying. Since I have a couple of birthdays coming up towards the end of the year I decided to play around with the gorgeous and pretty Boofle papers and stamps to create some cards. These quick and easy cards can be made using a minimum of products but with great effect.<\/h3>\n

One stamp three ways<\/h2>\n

Today I want to share some ideas on how you can use a single stamp to get different effects simply by changing the techniques you combine with the stamp.

The Bestest Card<\/h3>\n

For this card I used the Boofle Mr Cool stamp set<\/a>. The stamp set includes 2 stamps \u2013 one outline stamp and one shadow stamp. For the image I first stamped the shadow stamp in Pearlescent Brilliance Ink<\/a> and heated it with my heat gun to speed up the drying time. Once the Brilliance ink was dry I used a black permanent ink to stamp the outline stamp over the shadow stamp. I simply love this effect. I then added some colour around the image using my grey Artiste Dual Tip Brush Marker<\/a>.
\nTo add texture to Boofle\u2019s nose I added a layer of Anita\u2019s 3D glaze<\/a> and some POP! Microbeads<\/a> and left the glaze to dry. For the belly button I punched a little heart out of patterned paper and added some Crystalina glitter glue<\/a> to it for some shine.<\/p>\n

Wish Card<\/h3>\n

This time around I used the outline stamped image on its own and added colour using my Brush markers<\/a> in 2 different browns. I used the markers directly onto the paper and then added some water with a paintbrush to blend the different colours together. For Boofle\u2019s nose I stamped the image onto old dictionary paper and then cut out the nose part only and added it to the coloured image. This is a fun effect and so easy to add dimension, pattern and texture.<\/p>\n

Masking Card<\/h3>\n

To create a masked effect using stamps, stamp the Boofle image twice. Stamp the first image onto a piece of white cardstock<\/a> that you are going to use as your original, and stamp a second image onto a scrap of white paper. Cut out the image on the scrap paper on the lines of the actual stamp \u2013 do not leave a slight border. Place the cut out image on top of the stamped image on your cardstock and hold in place with a sticky square or temporary glue. Use a different stamp to over stamp onto your background. Leave the mask in place and add colour using Mister Huey inks. When everything is dry remove the mask to reveal the Boofle image.<\/p>\n

So now you can see a small effect of how versatile and economical stamps are and how by simply changing the technique combined with the stamp, you can totally change the effect. Hope you enjoyed the tips wiht these Boofle greeting cards!<\/p>\n
