But with the new docrafts range of products Christmas has never been this easy or quick. Crafting is a whole more fun when you can get everything you need for every requirement you may have in one place. The Wholesaler offers you loads of choices with the new ranges of Christmas goodies \u2013 so all you need to do is choose and create.<\/h3>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/docrafts-Christmas-Easel-Card-Inside.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/docrafts-Christmas-Easel-Card-Inside.jpg\" alt=\"docrafts Christmas Easel Card Inside\" title=\"docrafts Christmas Easel Card Inside\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week I am focusing on the Home for Christmas range of products. In the range you will find a huge selection of papers, ribbons, stamps, and toppers that can be used for quick and easy cards and gifts. The papers are high quality firm thicker paper which turned out to be perfect to use as a card base eliminating the need for plain cardstock \u2013 apart from matting the odd element or two. I really liked working with this paper (a new favourite). The other thing that drew my attention to this range was the fact that although it is Christmas themed, some of the designs can be used for other themes as well making it really versatile. \u2018Cause let\u2019s face it, unless you use up all those papers for Christmas cards and the odd layout no-one really wants to revisit and re-use old Christmas papers. But now your stash can be used for skiing holidays and even valentines.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/docrafts-Christmas-Easel-Card-Front-View.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/docrafts-Christmas-Easel-Card-Front-View.jpg\" alt=\"docrafts Christmas Easel Card Front View\" title=\"docrafts Christmas Easel Card Front View\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Christmas Easel Card<\/h2>\n<p>For my card I used the very popular easel card design. For the festive season this type of card is a real showstopper. A bonus is that your work of art can be displayed throughout the holidays with little effort. Easel cards are designed to stand by themselves making special card displays unnecessary. So here\u2019s how I did it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/docrafts-Christmas-Easel-Card-Side-View.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/docrafts-Christmas-Easel-Card-Side-View.jpg\" alt=\"docrafts Christmas Easel Card Side View\" title=\"docrafts Christmas Easel Card Side View\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create the base section. Cut a strip of cardstock 6&#215;12\u201d so that the design runs vertically from the top to the bottom.<\/li>\n<li>Fold the strip of patterned paper in half so that it measures 6&#215;6\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Open up the folded card and fold the top half of the strip in half to measure 6&#215;3\u201d. Your strip of paper will now have two folded lines on it.<\/li>\n<li>Cut another piece of the same patterned paper to measure 6&#215;6\u201d. This will become the front part of your card design.<\/li>\n<li>Decorate the front of your card using various patterned papers to create layers. I used 2 patterned and a plain recycled craft cardstock for mine. This all sits on top of the first patterned paper I cut measuring 6&#215;6\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere the decorative card front to your folded base. Mountain fold the top part of your base so that the 6&#215;3\u201d part with the pattern on top is visible. Add double sided tape to this part only. Then adhere your front 6&#215;6\u201d panel flush with the top.<\/li>\n<li>Decorate the inside of your card. Make sure that there is a piece of paper or embellishments like buttons, diamante, pearls or matted elements so that the front of your card will catch against the embellishments and so it will be kept in an upright position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>How to colour the stamped holly leaves using the Artiste Dual tip Brush Markers<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 1<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stamp the images you want to colour onto plain white cardstock using a permanent dye ink.<br \/>\n<strong>TIP:<\/strong> Using a dye ink will prevent the ink from smudging or running when painting with water. <\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Christmas-Easel-Card-Step-1-Stamp.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Christmas-Easel-Card-Step-1-Stamp.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Easel Card - Step 1 Stamp\" title=\"Christmas Easel Card - Step 1 Stamp\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 2<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Use the Brush tip of the marker and transfer colour onto a piece of acrylic\/palette. Use the flat side of the marker tip and scribble colour onto the block.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Christmas-Easel-Card-Step-2-Colour.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Christmas-Easel-Card-Step-2-Colour.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Easel Card - Step 2 Colour\" title=\"Christmas Easel Card - Step 2 Colour\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n[custom_list type=&#8221;dot&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mist the ink with water so that the colours are visible. Since you are cutting around the image this is the one time I don\u2019t mind colouring outside the lines.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Christmas-Easel-Card-Step-4-Colour-In.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Christmas-Easel-Card-Step-4-Colour-In.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Easel Card - Step 4 Colour In\" title=\"Christmas Easel Card - Step 4 Colour In\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>TIP<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Combine 2 or 3 shades of green together on a single leaf to create a realistic effect. I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few. I travel regularly to various shows teaching and presenting lectures on scrapbooking, card-making and creativity. I have been published several times in American publications such as Taken Ten Magazine, Catch Up Issue \u2013 both Somerset Publications. I was also asked to be a guest artist by Taken Ten Magazine for one of their issues in which an entire article was dedicated to my work. In December 2011, I made my television debut by presenting Christmas Crafts on 3 Talk with Noeleen. After a bit of a sabbatical with my on-line classroom website Scrapcouture, we are busy revamping it with a fresh new approach to bringing creativity and new techniques to people all over the world. Other than that I spend lots of time scrapbooking and making cards and teaching classes weekly in Gauteng as well as throughout South Africa.
