And that\u2019s why I love the Cricut die cutting machines so much. Now, even though there are plenty of brands out there, none of them are quite as simple to use as the Cricut \u2013 and when I say simple I mean uncomplicated and straightforward. And although the Cricut Expression 2 falls in the category of a bit more challenging with its high tech touch screen and multiple menus it is still the all-time favourite amongst many a crafter for its ease of use functions.<\/h3>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque Detail\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Monogram-Plaque-Detail.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Monogram-Plaque-Detail.jpg\" alt=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque Detail\" title=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque Detail\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For my projects this week using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/cricut-expression-2\/\" title=\"Cricut Expression 2\">Cricut Expression 2<\/a>, I grabbed the new <a title=\"Provo Craft - Cricut Cartridge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Cricut-Cartridges\">Frame of Mind<\/a> and <a title=\"Provo Craft - Cricut Cartridge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Cricut-Cartridges\">Fontopia<\/a> Cartridges. These new cartridges are so versatile and I especially like them for their options on cards. But I can see myself using them time and again on a myriad of scrapbook pages and altered art pieces too.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Monogram-Plaque.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Monogram-Plaque.jpg\" alt=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque\" title=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Monogram Plaque<\/h2>\n<p>I used various die-cut elements to make this monogram plaque. This would also make for a cute front cover of an exercise book seeing that it is back to school season again. I first cut the Marble blackout frame using a plain yellow <a title=\"AC Cardstock\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/AC-Cardstock\">AC Cardstock<\/a>. To create the beautiful faux wood effect I used the wood grain <a title=\"Kaisercraft - Timeless\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Kaisercraft-Collections\">Kaisercraft Stamp<\/a> and embossed the image repeatedly using AC zing embossing powder. The embossing is followed by layers of <a title=\"Mister Huey's Colour Mist\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Mister-Hueys-Colour-Mist\">Mister Huey&#8217;s<\/a> inks to create a worn look. I then adhered the frame to a sheet of old book paper with the layered monogram positioned in the centre of the frame. Embosing Powder\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Embossing-Powder\">ZING! Embossing Powder (Chetsnut)<\/a>.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque - Step 3\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Monogram-Plaque-Step-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Monogram-Plaque-Step-3.jpg\" alt=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque - Step 3\" title=\"Cricut - Monogram Plaque - Step 3\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColour your frame by spraying the cardstock with <a title=\"Mister Huey's Colour Mist\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Mister-Hueys-Colour-Mist\">Mister Huey&#8217;s Ink (warm calico)<\/a> in a colour and leave to dry. Then add another layer of <a title=\"Mister Huey's Colour Mist\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Mister-Hueys-Colour-Mist\">Mister Huey&#8217;s ink in white (opaque white)<\/a>. The white tones down the brown and give a soft worn wood look to the frame. Complete your project.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Framed Silhouette Card<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Cricut - Framed Silhouette Card\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Framed-Silhouette-Card.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Cricut-Framed-Silhouette-Card.jpg\" alt=\"Cricut - Framed Silhouette Card\" title=\"Cricut - Framed Silhouette Card\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For my silhouette card I cut the Lace frame using the <a title=\"Provo Craft - Cricut Cartridge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/Cricut-Cartridges\">Frame of Mind Cartridge<\/a> and <a title=\"AC Cardstock\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/AC-Cardstock\">AC Black Cardstock<\/a>. This delicate looking frame is simply beautiful. I used the frame as is and inserted a silhouette image printed onto old book paper inside of it as a focal point. The cut out inner piece from the Marble frame used in the monogram plaque was cut in half and used on the card after a good inking to change the colour from yellow to brown.
